Heartbreaking Kate Middleton cancer update from expert confirms our biggest fear Check Comments
Kate Middleton has cancer. The Princess of Wales announced the shocking news in an emotional video on Friday, and since then, people from all over the world have shown their support. Meanwhile, Kate and William have reportedly explained the situation to their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, but what the near future holds, no one knows.
Speculations about the princess’ health have been ongoing ever since her abdominal surgery in January, and it only escalated after her manipulated Mother’s Day picture. Though, now that Kate has revealed her cancer diagnosis, theories surrounding her will hopefully cool down.
Kate Middleton’s emotional speech in the video released Friday left many people affected. While some royal correspondents argue that the princess seems to be coping with the news of her cancer diagnosis better than some might realize, others have different opinions. For example, royal expert Kinsey Schofield claims one detail in Kate’s speech shows her true feelings about the future – and it isn’t positive at all.
Questions about Kate Middleton’s health have been growing ever since she underwent abdominal surgery. Kensington Palace only gave minor updates about the Princess of Wales moving forward, and as weeks went by, experts, as well as royal fans worldwide, thought it was time for them to start talking.
Meanwhile, others have argued that Kate should be left alone, but everything changed when Kate posted an image for Mother’s Day that showed her alongside her three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, which later turned out to have been manipulated.
Kate Middleton reveals cancer diagnosis
As Kensington Palace refused to release another newly taken picture of Kate following the scandal, conspiracy theories grew by the minute. Had something serious happened to Kate? Is she even alive, and if so, is she and William divorcing?
On Friday, Kate Middleton decided to put all cards on the deck. In an emotional video published on the Prince and Princess of Wales’ social media accounts, the 42-year-old mother of three revealed to the world that she is in the early stages of cancer treatment.
“I wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you, personally, for all the wonderful messages of support and for your understanding whilst I have been recovering from surgery. It has been an incredibly tough couple of months for our entire family, but I’ve had a fantastic medical team who have taken great care of me, for which I am so grateful,” Kate began in the video.
The Princess of Wales explained that at the time she underwent the abdominal surgery, it was thought that her condition was non-cancerous, and the surgery was successful. However, when undergoing tests after the operation, doctors found that cancer had been present.
Kate Middleton continued, “My medical team, therefore, advised that I should undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy, and I am now in the early stages of that treatment. This, of course, came as a huge shock, and William and I have been doing everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family.”
“I am well and getting stronger every day”
“As you can imagine, this has taken time. It has taken me time to recover from major surgery in order to start my treatment. But, most importantly, it has taken us time to explain everything to George, Charlotte and Louis in a way that is appropriate for them, and to reassure them that I am going to be ok. As I have said to them; I am well and getting stronger every day by focusing on the things that will help me heal; in my mind, body and spirits.”
The Princess of Wales continued by praising her husband., Prince William, saying it is a “great source of comfort and reassurance” having him by her side. Further, Kate asked the public for privacy moving forward.
“We hope that you will understand that, as a family, we now need some time, space and privacy while I complete my treatment. My work has always brought me a deep sense of joy and I look forward to being back when I am able. But for now I must focus on making a full recovery.”
Kate Middleton ended the emotional video by saying that she is also thinking of every other person affected by cancer.
“For everyone facing this disease, in whatever form, please do not lose faith or hope. You are not alone,” the princess said.
According to the Express, Kate felt it was her duty to share her diagnosis, not least as King Charles opened up about his just some months ago.
“The Princess wrote the statement herself, and they are entirely her words,” a source said.
Details behind Kate Middleton cancer diagnosis announcement comes to light
At the same time, a Kensington Palace spokesperson said Saturday that Kate and her husband have been “overwhelmed” by the public’s support
“The Prince and Princess are both enormously touched by the kind messages from people here in the UK, across the Commonwealth, and around the world in response to Her Royal Highness’ message. They are extremely moved by the public’s warmth and support and are grateful for the understanding of their request for privacy at this time.”
Kate Middleton and Prince William have stayed very quiet. Meanwhile, exactly when George, Charlotte, and Louis were notified about their mother’s cancer diagnosis is unclear.
However, according to the Sunday Times, the cancer announcement video was released just a few hours after their children’s school had closed so that they wouldn’t immediately face questions about it from their friends.
“George is ten now and can’t be shielded from any of this now,” a palace source told the Times. “Once it’s at the school gate and in the school playground, he won’t be able to avoid it.”
Now, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis won’t return to school until the summer term, beginning on April 17. For the next three weeks, the royal children will spend time with their parents at Anmer Hall at the Sandringham Estate.
Princess Kate and Prince William have been through a very rough patch in the last number of months, and the fact that she is now in treatment for cancer isn’t making things easier.
“William is extremely proud of his wife”
A source close to Prince William told the Times that the future king has gone into “protection mode,” trying to protect his children as their mother’s health will be discussed in the media and among the public. William knows all about it as he lost his mother, Princess Diana when he was only a teenager.
“All he wants to do is protect his wife and children. The family just want to go away for Easter, spend time together, the five of them, close off from the world and move on.”
Kate Middleton and her husband won’t go through with the tradition of attending this year’s Easter Sunday Service. Meanwhile, Prince William will return to public royal duty when his children return to school.
Although it has been a very tough time for the family, a royal source told The Telegraph that William is very proud of his wife, not only about how she has opened up about the cancer diagnosis but also how she has handed news.
“William is extremely proud of his wife for the courage and strength she has shown not just this week, but since her surgery in January,” the source said.
“He has always done all he can to protect his family and now more than ever he’s focused on ensuring his wife has the privacy she needs to fully recover and that his children are shielded from the understandable interest in the news that has been shared.”
Kate Middleton coping with cancer diagnosis “better than people” realize, former aide claims
How the coming weeks will look like for Kate, we don’t know. Many experts have spoken out about the Princess of Wales’ cancer diagnosis statement, and there are many opinions about how she really is doing and what will happen next.
One of those who has aired his opinions is Paddy Harverson, a former royal adviser who worked as the communications secretary to Prince William between 2004 and 2013.
Speaking on BBC’s Sunday With Laura Kuenssberg, Harverson said that Kate Middleton is coping with the cancer diagnosis news “better than people will realise,” and that she and William are “very strong” people.
“I think actually better than people realise. They are very strong, both as a couple and individually,” Paddy Harverson said.
“She always had this great strength and she didn’t want to make a fuss about it when she felt that she needed help. So I’m confident that them as a couple and individually they will get through this.”
Victoria Newton, editor at The Sun newspaper, also appeared on the show. She claimed that Kate Middleton made the decision to announce the cancer diagnosis “two weeks ago,” as the speculations on her health had become too many and too extreme.
Royal expert shares “upsetting” verdict on Kate Middleton’s cancer announcement
However, Paddy Harverson said that the speculations, which he described as “the worst I’ve ever seen it,” as well as the manipulated Mother’s Day picture, didn’t impact the announcement’s timing.
“If we hadn’t had all the madness on social media, the Mother’s Day photo madness, they would have still done it like this,” Harverson said on BBC’s Sunday With Laura Kuenssberg. “They would have still waited until when the schools were breaking up to make this announcement.”
He added, “It feeds off itself it is sort of a permanent doom loop. It is the worst I’ve ever seen – and I’ve been in the media all my career.”
Kate Middleton—and the rest of the royal family—have their behavior analyzed day in and day out. After the cancer diagnosis announcement was made public Friday, the same analysis was made, not only of her behavior but also of her speech.
Speaking on GB News, royal expert Kinsey Schofield stated that Kate had a “sense of fear “in her voice when making the announcement, adding she felt that was the “most upsetting part.”
“I think what hurt me the most was there was a sense of fear,” Schofield said. “No matter what, she is stoic, she is brave, she’s courageous and she’s beautiful. But I sensed a little bit of fear in her voice throughout the process.”
“They did that to ensure people are still confident in the Royal Family”
The royal expert added, “That’s what made me feel the most emotional about it. I feel like the Palace’s objective was, ‘How do we present this really big, really scary news?’ They did that to ensure people are still confident in the Royal Family and give them the privacy that they need.”
